Beautiful New Song

As I was listening to the Christian radio station at work this morning, I first heard this song by Sanctus Real. The lyrics were so powerful, I just had to share! What an incredible thing we have within the forgiveness of Christ.
Last night Christopher and I were discussing a situation that a friend had told him about. Within this situation were to promiscious girls and a Christian guy. These girls began building a realtionship with the guy...over a course of time, the relationship crossed over simple hello and goodbyes and led to a true bond. They began discussing with him their lifestyles...how they would sleep with random men to try and fill void...etc. Right in that moment, the guy had 2 choices. One, would be to begin distancing himself from theses immoral girls. The other option, love them and level with them. This guy replied, you know I have that same issue. Shocked, the girls asked, "but your a christian right?!" He explained that although he was not physically promiscious, he has a lust issue..ie..he sees a pretty girls and begins to think of her in inappropriate manners. As he continued in reply, he explained how thinking and doing wrong are no different..and that all of us are sinners...Some however, have accepted grace. These, have been forgiven. So often we "grade" sin. With this grading scale, we often place ourselves on a grading curve...so as to feel as if we are somehow better than another. Fact is we are all rotten, undersiving, snots who deserve nothing mroe than to wither in hell...However, there is an awe inspiring concept found within the Scriptures...GRACE and FORGIVENESS. How thatnkful I am for such!! With this awesome thought in place, enjoy this song :)

Well the past is playing with my head
And failure knocks me down again
I am reminded of the wrong that I have said and done
And that devil just won’t let me forget
In this life I know what I’ve been
But here in Your arms I know what I am
I’m forgiven I’m forgiven
I don’t have to carry the weight of who
I’ve been ’cause I’m forgiven
And my mistakes are running through my mind
And I relive my days in the middle of the night
And I struggle with my pain
And wrestle with my pride
Sometimes I feel alone and I cry
When I don’t fit in and I don’t feel like I belong anywhere
When I don’t measure up to much in this life
Oh, I’m a treasure in the arms of Christ ‘Cause ….

In this life I know what I’ve been
But here in Your arms I know what I am
I’m forgiven I’m forgiven
I don’t have to carry the weight of who
I’ve been ’cause I’m forgiven
